Answer: This machine will not be less efficient. The Complete C3 machines are fully sealed and have great filtration. The powerhead will do great on carpets and you can use the Parquet Floor Brush for your barefloors. The suction is great and you can adjust the suction to your specific needs. -

Answer: An adjustable power head came with my vacuum. Yes it is helpful to be able to adjust it for different types of carpet and rugs. -

Answer: The cord is approximately 26 feet long. The specs say that it has a 36’ operating radius, but that would include the hose and wand. -

How often will I need to change the bag if I have a long haired cat and a german shepherd who sheds the amount of 4 dogs in one hour?
Answer: The average home goes through about 6 bags a year. The amount of shedding you are saying you have, you will definitely go through more but I am unable to tell you how many you will go through without testing it out. You can try to base it off of what you are currently using at your home to compare. If you are using baggless, all that does is make it look like more because it fluffs the dirt and hair so that won't be accurate. What I can tell you is that you will be able to fill these bags very full. The bags can hold up to 8 lbs. of dirt. The machine really compacts the dirt and hair into the bag as much as possible so you don't lose air flow. -
