However, some customers have reported issues with the adapter's longevity and weight. While some customers have reported the adapter working great with no problems on their Linux VM and picking up signals very fast, others have reported connectivity problems with the adapter dropping signals 7-8 times a day, which is not acceptable for Wi-Fi devices. One customer reported the weight of the hardware causing their USB port to wear down and eventually causing the device to misbehave. The device continuously switched on and off, disabled the port altogether, and caused the customer to restart the machine and reinstall the dongle. The customer ended up purchasing a version that plugs into the USB port but sits on their desk and wished they had not wasted money on this one first. Finally, some customers have reported overall satisfaction with the product and recommended it for its good sensitivity and informative signal quality information but raised concerns about the longevity of the adapters, suspecting that they might be fake. One customer reported buying a device that had an extremely pungent smell to the plastic casing, which lasted only several months.
