Will this work for negative film strips?
Answer: That was the main reason I purchased this item and was very disappointed after trying to feed negatives through the film slid. If the negative film strip has the slightest bend it becomes next to impossible to push the strip through the viewer. The negative will almost always feed into the viewer rather then come out the opposite end--it became very frustrating. -
Question:
Is this only for 35 mm color negatives? I am looking for something to view b/w negatives.
Answer: The viewer would work with b&w negatives if the negative is housed in a frame, similar to a slide. The feeder mechanism is not designed for negatives in strips. -

What kind of lamp is used in the viewer?
Answer: I don't know. I like it. It is good and bright. I do not want to take it apart to look at a lamp I may not be able to identify in any event. -

Answer: I can't find any thing on the label on the viewer that tells where it was made. My guess would be China. -

Answer: 3 x 3 Works ok for me, but not for pros.

The Medalight 35mm Film Slide and Negative Viewer is a practical tool for those looking to view their old slides and negatives. It provides a clear and adequate screen size for single viewers and is easy to use. However, there have been some issues with the functionality of the viewer. Several customers have reported that 35mm slides tend to hang up in the viewer and do not eject properly, making it difficult to drop in and view the next slide. Some slides even got stuck and had to be removed with tweezers. When it comes to using the viewer with negatives, the experience seems to be less satisfactory. Negative film strips have difficulty feeding through the viewer, especially if they have even the slightest bend. Customers have found it frustrating to try and push the strip through, as it often feeds into the viewer instead of coming out the other end. While the viewer does provide a bright and clear lamp, there is uncertainty about its specifications, as customers have not been able to identify the type of lamp used.
