Answer: The inkstone weighs 2.5lb (1.15kg) and has a diameter of 5'' (12.7cm) and a height of 1.9'' (4.8cm). -

Answer: You can adjust the color intensity by dipping the brush in different areas of the inkstone. More water will result in a less intense ink color. -

What type of stone is this?
Answer: Not certain if real Sheyan (歙砚) stone slate, but it does have a manufactured/machine made quality to it. Does have consistent natural “smooth vein” pattern of striations that flows from base to sides to interior. Lid has some unpolished areas, may be a used item, shipped in a cardboard decorative box. Beautiful and simple beginner’s stone for the price point or as gifting. -
