Answer: It will take about 80 lbs fireglass to fill your fire pit. Usually, we recommend covering your burner until just covered, which can take anywhere from 1.5" to 4". -

can you put this on top of lava rock?
Answer: The glass is much more reflective than lava rock so the flame look of the glass is much better than better than rock. Also, the choice of glass size will affect the flame pattern/ dispersion given the same burner. Lava rock is generally large so the flame is more vertical compared to glass. -

Is it safe to cover the burner (ring) with the glass on a propane fire pit?
Answer: I had a medium amount of fire glass so I used some of the lava rock that came with it for a base around the side then put the fire glass on top. I am sure that the fire glass is ok to put directly on the burner since the gas will find its way around the glass and burn slightly wider which would be a good show. I should have bought a lighter color but I am glad I got the larger size glass. -

Can you use this in a fishtank
Answer: I wouldn’t because edges are a little sharp. -

How many pounds are needed for a fire pit with a 30 inch diameter?
Answer: My fire pit is 19x19 square and approx 1" Deep. I purchased the 1/2" size and 2-10lb bags. Worked perfectly. Hope this helps.
