Answer: No. You need a reducer, not a splice. -

Can this connect a shop vac hose 2 1/4" od to a port that is 2 1/4" od?
Answer: Since this is a solid plastic coupler, one side will fit and the other not. If you can find a coupler with one end that has a rubber end with clamp and the other with hard plastic for the hose side it will work. Or you can add a rubber coupler to make it work. -
