The LG 8,000 BTU Smart Portable AC is a great option for those who want an efficient, easy-to-use, and convenient AC unit. The design team has hit a home run with its smooth gliding caster wheels, centered drain plug, included vent panels storage, and the hose storing right on the unit. It also has a robust smartphone/tablet app monitoring and control, dual-inverter compressor, and sufficient window vent panels to cover wide windows. The anemic and sensitive on-unit control panel and remote control, quirky app, and lack of ECO/AUTO mode are Cons to this unit. However, the DRY mode has been found to serve this purpose. The AC unit is great for cooling down whole houses within minutes, has a low noise level and a timer feature, and is very easy to control. LG's smart tech and dual-inverter compressor are also available in window models and split systems and may be a good fit for those who have a port for these types.
