If I use a 1/2.5/5/10G negotiating transceiver on my 5G port, will I get a 5G uplink, or will it make it 2.5G?
Answer: The transceiver will auto-negotiate to 2.5Gbase-T if your port is SFP+. If you connect to mokerlink 10G SFP+ with 2.5G/5G/10Gbase-T negotiating transceiver, it will fail @5G since the SFP+ port is 10G only. If you want a 5G SFP+ to 10G SFP+ bridge, visit Stephen Harting @californiaconsultants.org. -
Question:
Can a 10g RJ45 SFP+ transceiver be used in the 10g port if I use 10g over RJ45 in my system?
Answer: Yes, the SFP slot supports 10g RJ45 SFP module. -
