- Knauf ECOSE Black Acoustical Thermal Smooth Glass Fiber Board is an acoustic sound dampening material often used in sound baffles, office partitions, ceiling panels, and interior panel designs. The sound deadening and thermal properties make it useful in DIY projects, soundproofing a room, creating acoustic panels at home, decorative sound absorbing wall panels, and more. This board features a precision cut tolerances and is perfectly smooth on one side. This fiberglass provides professional studio quality noise dampening. This popular insulation is very effective, and has an NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) rating of 1.0 out of 1, which can be elevated when combined with other acoustical products, such as acoustic fabric, to create a highly sound absorbent panel. This insulation is ASTM E84 Fire Rated Class 1 or Class A and is GREENGUARD certified.
