- Drummer Dave Barry is well-known on the UK jazz scene having worked with Mike Westbrook for six years, Tim Whitehead for twelve years and currently he's a member of the Don Weller Quartet and the Art Themen-John Critchenson Quartet. On 'Precious Time' Barry fronts a group of leading British jazz musicians including saxophonist Don Weller, trumpeter Steve Waterman and pianist John Donaldson. They perform a programme of nine originals - seven by Barry and two by Weller. A rare outing as leader from a great drummer who's also a talented composer. Personnel: Dave Barry (drums), Don Weller (tenor saxophone), Steve Waterman (trumpet), John Donaldson (piano), Arnie Somogyi (double bass)
