Atıl Biber!, Koş Biber!, Yakala Biber! gibi komutları alır almaz kendimi tutamayarak hemen hedefe kilitleniyorum. Komut almak hayat felsefeme aykırı olsa da ne yapayım elimde değil. Dayanamıyorum, kanım kaynıyor. Öyle kemikle, köpek bisküvisiyle kandırılacak göz yok bende. Eğitmenlerim oldukça akıllı olduğumu söylüyorlar. Eh, haksız da sayılmazlar hani. Benden isteneni başarmakta kimse patilerime su dökemez. Ama annemin yolundan gitmeye de hiç mi hiç niyetim yok! Nasıl mı? Evet, yanlış anlamadınız; ben annem ve diğer arkadaşlarım gibi bir polis köpeği olmak istemiyorum. Peki o zaman neden mi halen eğitim merkezindeyim? O konuyu açıklaması biraz zaman alacak. İyisi mi siz beni şimdilik hiç görmemiş, havlamalarımı da hiç duymamış olun. Zaten pek de havladığım söylenemez. Heyecandan ölüyorum, çünkü özgür olmama çok az kaldı!.. Mezuniyetine bir hafta kala, köpek eğitim merkezinden kaçmayı başaran Biber için hayat yeniden başlıyordur. Demir tellerin sınırlayamadığı uçsuz bucaksız özgür bir yaşam tüm renkleriyle onu çağırıyor. Tabii türlü türlü maceralar da cabası. Arkadaş canlısı olduğu için sokaklarda pek yalnız kalacak gibi de görünmüyor. Nitekim, Kurtuluş Parkı'nın küpeli köpek sakinleri de sanki onu yıllardır tanıyormuş gibi aralarına almaktan hiç çekinmediler. Başlarda her şey yolunda gitse de, kısa bir süre sonra Biber'in kanı yeniden fokurdamaya başlar. Yakalanmamak için beladan uzak durması gerekirken o belaya balıklama daldı. Kıvırcık bir kızı polisin elinden kurtarması, bardağı taşıran son damla olur. Biber'in adı artık arananlar listesindedir. Koca Ankara hatta tüm Türkiye, Biber'in kahramanlığını konuşmaktadır. Ama polisin bu kimliği belirsiz köpeğin eğitim merkezinden kaçan Biber olduğunu anlaması çok uzun sürmez. Birileri bir şeyler yapmalıdır. Biber'in zar zor kaçtığı o yere bir daha dönmeye hiç niyeti yoktur. Parkın robot sesli güvercincisinin Biber için iyi bir kaçış planı vardır. Biber'in küpeli dostlarının da patileri armut toplayacak değildir elbet!
